Rare opportunity at Johns Hopkins Hospital's in Baltimore!

Looking for Multiple Hospitalists for one year term in Covid wards. Prefer IM physicians and fellows with experience in academic medical centers. Will consider EM or FM, Critical care, Anesthesiology or Surgery. Physicians will provide bedside care in the ICU under the supervision of a Hopkins Faculty Inivist.

Day and Nocturn options avaialable.

COVID HOSPITALIST JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Role:

• To provide medical care to critically ill adult patients who have COVID-19 disease at Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) or Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC).
• In some cases, to provide medical care on acute hospital floors to adult patients who have COVID-19 disease.
• In some cases as demanded by total patient volume, hospitalists may be asked to provide care across the Johns Hopkins Medicine system.
  Duties include:
• Serve as the primary inpatient clinician to either critically ill or hospitalized patients admitted with COVID-19.
• Perform bedside procedures independently, as allowed by training and credentialing.
• Depending on COVID volumes, there may be duties to care for non-COVID patients as appropriate.

  Job Structure:

  • While in the ICU, providers will usually maintain an approximate 1:6 provider to patient ratio based on the size of the unit and acuity of the patients
  • Receive supervision from a board-certified critical care physician
  • Work 12 hour shifts, from 7A – 7P or 7P – 7A (with an additional 15-30 minutes for handoff at the end of each shift)
  • Individuals will be hired as Instructors in Medicine for a period of up to one year

    This position requires an individual to be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, or Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, to hold an active medical license, and to become credentialed at JHH and JHBMC.
